Friday, May 17, 2013 - Seacoast Bike/Walk to Work Day
SPRING is coming up fast – there’s snow on the ground now, but not for long! With warm weather returning and gas prices expected to clear $4.00 again this summer, make this the spring you try leaving your car at home and start having more fun getting to work!
The Seacoast’s 11th Annual Bike/Walk to Work Day is Friday May 17th. Ride your bike, ride transit, walk or carpool to work, and stop in at one of ten free Commuter Breakfasts around the region. Enjoy a delicious free continental breakfast and sign-in to enter a raffle of great prizes donated by local businesses!
Breakfast locations include Dover, Durham/UNH, Exeter, Lee, Newmarket, North Hampton, Pease TradePort, Portsmouth Downtown, Rye and Stratham. Participate in the Tour de Breakfast and stop at all of them!
The week of May 13th-17th will also see the Commute Green NH Challenge and the Seacoast Corporate Commute Challenge. Sign up your workplace, and rally your co-workers to bike or walk for one day or five. Four size categories for small (1-15 employees), medium sized (16-199 employees), large (200-999 employees), and extra-huge (1000+ employee) workplaces.
Keep an eye out for more info in the coming weeks about free online registration for both the breakfasts and the commuter challenges.
