The Program for Alternative Transportation & Health (PATH) and its partners are working to help you find and choose great transportation options in Concord and surrounding communities.

If you are looking to try carpooling, check out the NH Rideshare page to sign up for its free ridematching service. PATH also sponsors an emergency ride home program if you get stuck and need a ride home. You can also get a Google Map and information on Park & Ride locations in the region here.

Events Around the Region

  • April 19, 7-9am: PATH/CNHBC Fossil Fuel Free Friday #1 in front of the Statehouse – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get a free bagel and coffee from the Works! Kick off spring with some fun and new and old friends. Open to all.
  • May 4-5: Fourth Annual Bike Swap and Used Bike Sale at Goodale’s Nashua (14B Broad Street, Nashua) – The Bike Swap will be May 4, 9am-6pm, and May 5, 10am-5pm. Drop off a good condition bike previously purchased at a bicycle store  from Monday April 29th thru Friday May 3rd.  We will help you determine fair market value.  If your bike sells during the swap, you'll receive either a store credit for 100% of the sold price or a check for 75% of the sold price. All bikes not sold during the swap will be required to be picked up by May 18.
  • May 13, 11am-1pm: Commute Green NH Central NH Region Kickoff at Graphic Packaging International (80 Commercial Street, Concord) – Block Party with free lunch and bike tune up station from Eastern Mountain Sports! Open to all.
  • May 16, 4-8pm: Rock ‘N Race Bicycle Valet at Merrimack County Savings Bank – The Central New Hampshire Bicycling Coalition (CNHBC) offers a complementary bicycle valet service for the event. The valet service is stationed in the Main Street Concord Merrimack County Savings Bank parking lot location (behind building adjacent to School Street). The valet service offers individuals the opportunity to enjoy the event without having to worry about finding a parking spot for their car.
  • May 16-19: Fifth Annual Concord Area Bicycle Swap at S&W Sports (296 South Main Street, Concord) – The Bicycle Swap is a fun event for families and for bicycle riders of all ages and abilities. The sale will be May 18 (9am-6pm) and May 19 (9am-1pm). You can donate old bikes today through May 17 (until 7pm) at S&W Sports. Bikes for consignment can only be dropped off May 16 and 17 from 11am-7pm. If a consigned bike sells at the Swap, the owner will receive 75 percent of the proceeds and 25 percent will be donated to CNHBC. Unsold bikes and/or checks will need to be picked up May 19 between 1-5pm. CNHBC is not responsible for unsold bikes not picked up. All profits donated to the community.
  • May 17, 7-9am: National Bike/Walk to Work Day Breakfast in front of the Statehouse – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get a free bagel and coffee from the Works! Rub elbows with local celebrities in attendance and get your bike tuned up from Eastern Mountain Sports. Open to all.
  • May 17, 7-9am: National Bike/Walk to Work Day Breakfast at NH Department of Environmental Services (29 Hazen Drive) – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get free treats, plus live music from the NHDES house band! Open to state employees working on Hazen Drive.
  • June 1-7: Walk New Hampshire Week –You can schedule a walk with your school, senior center, health facility, business, park and recreation department, etc. to be a part of this statewide effort to encourage people to make walking part of their daily lifestyle.  Click here for more information. To Kick-off Walk NH Week there will be a “Intergenerational Wellness Walk” on Friday, May 31 at White Park in Concord. This walk is in partnership with the Governor’s Council on Physical Activity and Health and the NH Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.   • June 1-October 5, 8am-noon: Concord Farmers Market Bicycle Valet – CNHBC offers a complementary bicycle valet service for the Saturdays that the Concord Farmers Market is open. Capitol Street is closed and the valet tent will be located at the Franklin Pierce statue at the Corner of Capitol Street and North Main Street. The valet service offers individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy their Saturday morning downtown shopping experience without having to find parking for your car.
  • June 20: Eighth Annual National Dump the Pump Day – Show your support for Concord Area Transit and paying at the pump for a day by using CAT to get around. Using public transportation is a great alternative to driving that will help you save money. A two-person household can save, on the average, more than $10,000 a year by downsizing to one car!
  • June 21, 7-9am: PATH/CNHBC Fossil Fuel Free Friday #2 in front of the Statehouse – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get a free bagel and coffee from the Works! Enjoy the first day of summer! Open to all.
  • June 21, 7-9am: NHDES Fossil Fuel Free Friday #2 at NH Department of Environmental Services (29 Hazen Drive, Concord) – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get free treats, plus live music from the NHDES house band! Open to state employees working on Hazen Drive.
  • July 18-20: Annual Market Days and Summer Music Festival Bicycle Valet – CNHBC offers a complementary bicycle valet service for the event.  The valet service during Market Days is stationed in front of 12 South Main Street. It will be open Thursday, 9am-7pm; Friday, 9am-7pm; and Saturday, 9am-5pm.  North Main Street will be closed, so the best approach to the valet will be from Pleasant Street or South Main Street. The valet service offers individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy the day without having to worry about finding a parking spot for their car and the chance to get in a little family riding.
  • July 19, 7-9am: PATH/CNHBC Fossil Fuel Free Friday #3 in front of the Statehouse – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get a free bagel and coffee from the Works! Work off all your July 4th BBQ and cake! Open to all.
  • July 19, 7-9am: NHDES Fossil Fuel Free Friday #3 at NH Department of Environmental Services (29 Hazen Drive, Concord) – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get free treats, plus live music from the NHDES house band! Open to state employees working on Hazen Drive.
  • August 16, 7-9am: PATH/CNHBC Fossil Fuel Free Friday #4 in front of the Statehouse – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get a free bagel and coffee from the Works! Beat the heat! Open to all.
  • August 16, 7-9am: NHDES Fossil Fuel Free Friday #4 at NH Department of Environmental Services (29 Hazen Drive, Concord) – Ride your bike, walk, take the bus or carpool in and get free treats, plus live music from the NHDES house band! Open to state employees working on Hazen Drive.
